“Making memories… A second time around.”

By Claudia Gonzalez Romo soon to be Claudia Romo Edelman Making memories. And making peace with past memories. That’s what life is truly all about. I am marrying my best friend and someone I can truly call my partner in everything I do. But more than the music, the flowers, and all those beautiful details that are inherent to most wedding celebrations, are the memories that were created with friends and family celebrating with us from all over the world; our one on one connections, dancing together, laughing together, breaking bread together. This immediate global family that will celebrate my wedding with me is also what has inspired me to be a special advisor on a non for profit near and dear to my heart, called We Are All Human. The mission of this non-profit is that of reaffirming the idea that before anything else, we are one human family. It hurts me to see how much the divisive language and discrimination has gained traction over the last years. I am determined to use my …

How to Pick Your Father-Daughter Dance Song

Picking THE song for your father-daughter dance can be a real head-scratcher. There are a lot of feels in the air that day. So do you go sentimental? Or do keep things fun and upbeat? We get it, it’s a difficult decision. So here are a few tips to help guide your song search. Step one: Pick your mood. Make this a joint decision with you dear old dad. Would you both rather jump around and get silly? Or would you like to keep it elegant and nostalgic? Settling on this will help narrow down your song options out there. Step two: Practice, practice, practice. Whether you’re doing a traditional slow dance or full-blown choreographed routine, it never hurts to rehearse. Even if you do it just once or twice (or take a dance lesson), it’ll cut down on any jitters or potentially awkward moments. Step three: Share the love. Do you two not enjoy the spotlight? Consider inviting other couples—the groom and mother of the bride, the groom’s parents—to join you on the dance …

This one is a must read, people! Becky, tell us about yourself. I grew up just outside of Boston and love all things related including lobster rolls, Tom Brady, and the accents. I went to college in D.C. and always knew I would end up in NYC so moved right after graduation and I have been working in the PR industry ever since. I am currently the Director of PR at SoulCycle. How did you and your fiancé meet? Jesse and I met through one of my best friends from summer camp. She met him at a wedding and instantly thought of me. She is really intuitive! Tell us how he popped the question! On a Saturday morning …

#ZolaCouple: Meet Cortney + Maurice

Meet our latest #ZolaCouple, Cortney and Maurice. These two gorgeous people met in college, and literally jumped over hurdles to get together. They fell in love, and the rest is history. Read for yourselves! How did you meet? We ran on the same track team in college and had the same circle of friends. Both being hurdlers, we spent lots of time training together day in and day out – where we got to know one another first as friends and eventually began to develop a relationship. How did he propose? He didn’t. I didn’t. Marriage was something that neither of us had ever dreamt about, but we knew we wanted to spend our lives together. We discussed the idea of eloping and realized it was an option that excited us the most! What was the first thing you did after you got engaged? Had an IPA at our favorite neighborhood brewery. Tell us about your wedding & the theme! We decided to have a handful of our family come along with us to Washington’s beautiful San Juan Islands. …
