Wedding Season is right around the corner, which means we are quickly approaching Shower Season too. We spoke to Zola‘s very own Newlywed-At-Large, Jennifer Spector, about her recent wedding shower where she details all kinds of great advice for first-timers. Check it out!
What are your wedding shower must-dos?
A wedding shower is a wonderful time to spend time with your nearest and dearest during a big life moment. So a must-do is speaking with everyone in attendance, and making sure you get quality time with everyone who came to support you.
Did you tweak your wedding registry before your shower?
I made sure that my registry had various items at different price points, so that there were gifts well suited for both my shower and my wedding.
Did you play “games” at your shower?
No games were played, but my best friends did surprise me with a song roasting me to the tune of “We Didn’t Start the Fire” that was hysterical!
What was the best gift you got at your shower?
The best gift I received was the presence of all my friends and family! I also received many wonderful gifts including a beautiful wooden bowl where my husband and I keep fruit – we are healthier because of it!
Any advice for first-timers?
I was initially reluctant to have a wedding shower, but am really glad I did. Your wedding is one day, but if you are lucky there are other gatherings where you get to celebrate more intimately with different people in your life. My shower allowed me to spend time with friends and family, so I encourage other brides to embrace this event!
