Spring Cleaning

How does Spring Cleaning differ than just regular cleaning? We’re talking about an all-hands-on-deck organization overhaul where we break old habits, make new systems, disinfect and totally start fresh. To us, Spring Cleaning is less about daily chores and more about setting the tone for a seamless transition to summer so you know exactly where your shorts are and have the perfect spot to store your winter coat when the cold weather breaks. Having said that, we also encourage a major scrub down of all your corners, shelves and in-between spaces (you know the ones that we on-purpose forget to clean all year long). When is the official start date of Spring Cleaning? ASAP or sooner! Spring Cleaning can be whenever you want. Maybe you already started after being majority inspired by the KonMari method or maybe you’re waiting for a rainy day so you don’t abandon your mission for the sunshine. But one thing is for sure – the sooner you start, the better you will feel. Should I put cleaning supplies on my wedding registry? Absolutely. Zola is …

Beginner’s Guide to: Hosting Essentials

Whether you’re the hostess with the mostess or your idea of entertaining is having friends over for movie night on the couch, these hosting essentials will have you covered for all your in-home social events. What is it? Basically, think of this as your one-stop-shop for all of your entertaining needs. I need this if? You need this is you ever plan on having anyone over for more than just a few minutes. For a more spacious layout or those with additional storage space, we suggest enough settings to host 10-12. What style is right for me?  Great question! And an easy answer, too. With so many styles to choose from (think Art Deco, engraved, patterned, rustic, floral, solids, modern etc.), pick whatever suits your fancy. Mix and match or keep …

Beginner’s Guide to: Towels

Towels are some of the only items on your registry that are truly everyday essentials. However, the seemingly endless options to choose from can be kind of paralyzing if you don’t know where to start. From color to size, shape, texture, detail and consistency, our beginner’s guide takes the guesswork out of towel registering so you can get back to day dreaming about that cast iron waffle maker you really need. What are they? Towels are truly essentials you use everyday, sometimes more. Do I really need these?  Yes. Even if I already have towels? Yup! From a practical standpoint, you both use them all the time and wear and tear is the nature of the product, so it’s worth stocking up. How annoyed would you be if you opted out of towel registering and a few months after the wedding, your trusty, old towels started to fray? How many do I need?  We suggest between 8-12 bath towels per two-person household. You can opt for less hand towels as they tend to get the least use and we …
