Photo Source: Youtube The holidays can be a mix of emotions for couples all over the world. For new couples, the stress to impress may be even greater. When we asked how couples felt about spending the holidays with their in-laws, more than half said they love their in-laws as much as their own parents! To our surprise, only 4% of all couples said they need to have an emergency exit strategy in place. Not bad, not bad. Regardless if you get along well with the ‘rents or not, we’ve gathered a few noteworthy tips to help you master holidays with the in-laws this season! Don’t Arrive Empty-Handed Bring your favorite dish, a small gift, or a bottle of wine to show your appreciation! Even better, consider gifting them with a one-month wine subscription from Winc. #ZolaCouple: Meet Melody & Keith, the Coffee Lovebirds

Meet our latest #ZolaCouple, Melody and Keith. These two lovebirds are the kind of couple you look at and just feel the energy of their love. It is a beautiful thing to witness, and has most certainly inspired us to share! From spending Q.T. in their cozy & chic Kentucky home to supporting each other in all of their dreams and aspirations, we are head over heels for this #ZolaCouple. How did you meet? We were actually co-workers! We both worked at a campus ministry located on the University of Kentucky’s campus. We worked two desks apart from each other and honestly never thought twice about the other person. About a year and a half in something changed! How did he propose? Long story short – He did it in such a normal way, which I loved! It felt like every other day, and it was a part of something we would actually be doing in a normal part of our lives together. It’s Pre-Engagement Season!

It’s Pre-Engagement Season Recently we surveyed over 1,000 newlywed and engaged couples about pre-engagement. You might know pre-engagement as the relationship stage when a bride-to-be (or groom, for that matter!) is feeling in limbo waiting for their S.O. to get down on one knee. You probably experienced it yourself, and considering the holiday season is the most popular time to get engaged, we bet you have at least one friend going through it right now. The truth is that most couples today are planning for their future together before they become officially engaged! In fact, almost 100% of couples broach the subject of marriage before putting a ring on it, and the vast majority have dreams about what their big day will be like, from the dress to the decor. Our survey also found that 60% of couples plan some part of their nuptials before becoming engaged. From scheduling a potential-pre-proposal manicure, to creating a secret (or not-so-secret) Pinterest board, pre-engagement activity is real. Here are some other stats from our survey: Pre-Proposal Planning 94% …

Wedding Registry Hacks

How to get exactly what you want for your wedding is one of the frequently-asked questions from our Zola couples and we completely understand why. It’s not everyday we get to ask for whatever we want from our nearest and dearest (and coworkers, family friends, Great Aunts we’ve only met once, the list goes on). So here’s our expert advice on how to check gifts off the perfect wedding registry. Ask and You Shall Receive Don’t be shy! First-timers may feel a bit of pressure to register for what they think they’re supposed to register for, instead of registering for what they actually want. This is a huge mistake! If you don’t register for what you want, you won’t get what you want. It’s that easy. Personalized Notes In order to effectively make your case for why you need that Vitamix or swanky coffee table, add a personalized note on your wedding registry explaining to your guests how each gift will fit into your new life as a couple. It takes few extra minutes, but it is totally worth it …
